STORIES!

1 min read
Well hello everyone. Looks like I'm back here again. And I have stories for you all. So so so many stories. I went to Kew Gardens today for my birthday and the stories just alighted on my shoulders like butterflies.

Thank you those who gave me my DD and all those who read, favourited and commented. I shall make a concerted effort to share a story or poem regularly on here until that stops making sense. Maybe once a week or so. Keep your eyes peeled.

Working on a novel (aren't we all?) and will keep you posted.

Love and health, you happy little deviants! xxx

Happy New Year.

I am a paid working actress. I did it. I'm doing it. It's happened. I'm out of drama school and I'm getting paid a weekly wage to act. I graduated last July and I got my first job as a real person in August. I'm touring primary schools in the South of England with a rep of nine different shows, and I love it.

It hasn't left a lot of time for anything else, and quite frankly, my brain is happy. It's not keeping me up and demanding I justify my existence with art anymore.

So...as you've probably noticed, my uploads have petered out to almost nothing now. But I'll come back when I need it. And it's all good. I'm happy. I'm so happy I want to hug myself and tell everyone when I walk home from work.

Love and health to you all xxx

Script Frenzy!

2 min read
Best wishes to all fellow Frenziers this April. I currently stand at 46 pages.

For those that don't know it, Script Frenzy is an offshoot of NaNoWriMo, happens in April, and is a personal challenge to write 100 pages of script before the end of the month. It's free to take part, no rules except to get to 100 pages and have loads of fun, and the prize is 100 pages of script and a big ol' sense of achievement. www.scriptfrenzy.org

I signed myself up for it, then worried and thought I wouldn't be able to do it, and then on April 1st sat down to write a script based on life in theatre school...and ended up with 13 pages of a story about a fallen angel in a launderette in Bedminster.

I'm not quite sure where it's going, but I'm thinking less about that and more about writing. A few days ago my laptop screen committed suicide, and I'm now working on my boyfriend's laptop, in a sticky transition from Windows to Mac, waiting for a new laptop to arrive. Ai...it'll all be worth it when the BBC commissions me as a script writer. Yup. Definitely.

Easter Break

2 min read
My final term two is over, and to make up for this fact it was the most suicide-inducing term two I've ever had. But now it's all over, the madness has passed, the weather is glorious and I've just done my first paid acting job. I'm spending this week doing stage combat - small sword and cutlass & dagger - got a read through next week for a film in the summer, and have caught a bit of sun. Everything's pretty damn good, really. Now is the time for ice creams and cider and kicking back.

I'm writing again. Like, a lot. Not anything that looks set to be the seeds of greatness, but the writing is coming. My brain is coming out of cramp. I am refusing to read any books or articles on how to write or how to increase my productivity or improve my style.

There's going to be a short film out on BBC2 at some point in the near future, called The Best of Men. It's about the man who created the paralympics. It's got Rob Brydon in it. If you can, watch it. It's going to be a cracker, and loads of my classmates are in it.

In the meantime, I'm trying to get my head around tax when you're self-employed. Yay!

Spring...?

Still alive, against all the odds. Adopted a hyacinth, which I've become oddly attached to. Writing like medicine each night. Just two more days until the madness stops.
